Painting Emotion: From Feeling to Canvas

Painting Emotion: From Feeling to Canvas

Over the past few months, something unexpected has been unfolding in my work.
It began quietly—through the Color Field workshop I taught last fall. A simple process of working with color, letting it move, letting it settle… without forcing it into form.
But I kept coming back to it.
And the more time I spent in that space, the more I realized something was opening up.
A different way of seeing.
A different way of working.
One that feels both unfamiliar and completely natural at the same time.
This piece is part of that exploration.
There’s something about allowing color to lead—without overthinking, without controlling—that has been incredibly freeing. And interestingly, the response to these works has been immediate and strong.
I’ve already begun taking on a few commissions in this direction.
If this kind of work speaks to you, I’d be happy to create something for your space.
Feel free to reach out and start a conversation.

Painting Emotion: From Feeling to Canvas
Saturday, April 25 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
A deeply personal entry into abstraction.
We begin on paper by identifying a feeling and the color that expresses it, then move onto canvas—translating emotion into form through mark-making, layering, and intuitive process.
All materials are included.
Each participant leaves with a finished or near-finished canvas rooted in their own inner landscape.

LATELY, I’VE BEEN THINKING…

“Color has a way of revealing something you didn’t know you were holding.”

Until Next Time,
