SCANNED AT GOGGLEWORKS - WYOMISSING, PA

Hello - I'm glad you stopped.

The four paintings on these walls arc part of a much longer body of work. This is where they came from - and where you can keep following along.

THE ARTIST

Stephanie Rado Taormina

Stephanie's path started in fashion, then home textiles designing bedding for ABC Carpet & Home while running her own soft home furnishings label, Rado Ltd. A move from New York City to Pennsylvania, and a growing family, led her to open her own interior design and art studio. She began painting in 2006,and in 2014 founded Have Some Fun Today, a creative lifestyle brand she still runs today. She returned to painting fully in 2020, and now works between her studio in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and New York City. She is a member of the National Association of Women Artists and has completed two solo exhibitions.

THE INSTALLATION

Four paintings, permanently home

Acquired by collector Sandy Solman for GoggleWorks, these four works mark one of Stephanie's largest public installations to date.

Title: Coming Home

Medium:  Oil on linen

Dimensions: 40 x 72 x 2 in

Warm and unguarded - the painting that gave the installation it's name.

Title: Cosmic

Medium:  Acrylic, gesso, wallpaper on paper on canvas

Dimensions: 40 x 72 x 2 in

Built in layers, over months - paper folded into paint until the surface held its own weather.

Title: Serotonin

Medium:  Oil on linen

Dimensions: 32 x 49 x 1 In

Gesture as statement. Strokes left separate, unblended, sweeping across linen - the moment a new kind o f freedom broke lhrough.

Title: Unhidden

Medium:  Acrylic, oil, oil pastel and gesso

Dimensions: 48 x 36 x 1 In

Started, scraped back, and started again - the painting thait took the longest to let me finish it .

ARTIST STATEMENT

"My paintings begin without a plan. Color goes down first, then color answers it - pink against sage, gold pulled through grey - until the canvas holds something I couldn't have said in words.
