When Color Becomes the Statement

05/21/2026, New York City
Before I was a painter, I was an interior designer. For many years, I spent my days thinking about how a space tells a story — how every element works together to create something that feels intentional, layered, and alive.
That part of me has never really left. It’s woven into how I think about my own work today. I see the way art and design speak to each other — and I see, maybe more clearly than most, how the right piece can transform a room. How it can anchor a space, set its emotional temperature, and tell you exactly what kind of life is being lived inside it.
One of the most powerful tools we have for that is color.
So I wanted to play. I wanted to take everything I know about creating a statement wall — the impact of scale, repetition, and a single bold color — and translate it into a body of work. I created six identical panels and leaned into the color field technique, letting one color do all the talking.
The result is what you’re looking at. Six pieces. One color story. A statement that doesn’t whisper.
This is the kind of work that changes a room. The kind that gives a space its voice.
I’m accepting summer commissions for collectors and clients who have a wall — and a feeling — they want to bring to life. If there’s a color statement you’ve been imagining for your home or office, let’s talk.

Last Call — May 30 Painting Workshop
This is the final painting workshop of the season, and registration closes tomorrow, May 22. If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your moment.
Perception & Interpretation: Still Life Painting Workshop is designed to give you the kind of breakthrough you can’t manufacture on your own — the kind that comes from being in the room, doing the work, with the right direction and mentorship guiding you through it. Students consistently leave this workshop holding a painting they didn’t believe they could make.
Choose the full 4-hour session to work on a larger canvas, or the half session for a more intimate format.
Sign up here before midnight tomorrow
Coming Soon — A Summer Studio Invitation
I’m opening my studio doors this June 20th for a late afternoon of light refreshments & fare, conversation, and art — an intimate gathering to mark the start of my Summer Studio Series.
The Summer Studio Series is a quietly held season of opportunity. A chance to view new work in the place where it was made, to spend an evening among other people who love art, and to bring home a piece at studio pricing offered only to those inside this circle.
A formal invitation will arrive by mail in the coming weeks. If you’d like to receive one, simply reply to this email and I’ll add you to the list.

LATELY, I’VE BEEN THINKING…

“Collecting art that speaks to you is the most impactful way to bring life and joy into your space.”
Until next time,
